Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk

It is hard to believe another March has arrived, and it is time for another Slice of Life Challenge.  This is my third year of participating.  Thank you Two Writing Teachers for creating this space for me to share my corner of the world.

Don't cry over spilled milk.  We have all heard of this idiom which basically means don't get upset over things which are not important.

I am emotional.

I am a crier.

I am a sap.

Yes, I cry when I read books, watch movies, or attend weddings.

But I also cry over some really silly things too, like big winners on game shows, or performances on The Voice or Dancing with the Stars.  Yes, I know...spilled milk.

I don't watch a lot of television, but I do love a good commercial.

So, pull up a chair, grab a box of tissues, and watch a couple of my all-time favorite make-me-cry commercials!

How about this Hallmark commercial?  If you are a teacher, then this is the one you need to watch! (How can you NOT cry over this one!)

Or the Subaru commercials?  If you are an empty nester or close to becoming one, then this one is for you!

Or the classic Hallmark Christmas commercial?

And of course, there are always the Budweiser commercials for you pet-lovers!

Aww...no need to cry over spilled milk!

  2. What are you doing? Thanks for the tears first thing this morning! Here's one that I can only watch one time because if I watched it again I would break out in an ugly cry. The first time I saw this I was glad I was alone. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCfwQzFJfpo

  5. Oh I just LOVE this slice!!! I have finally found someone who cries just as much as me...lol! I too cry for things that you would expect to cry for, but also for those things that would be spilled milk...watching a wedding on TV or being one, watching a baby being born to a complete stranger on a show too! These commercials have me going through a box of kleenex right now! I love them. I enjoyed reading this today, so thank you for sharing! I'm new to Slice of Life and my friend and co-worker Jennifer sent me your way to check your blog out. I'm so glad that she did! Have a great day!

  6. Great job on making me cry! :) My husband thinks I am a complete sap. I cry for the same reasons you do. Lately, I have been getting tears in my eyes when I see elderly couples, like when they are holding hands or helping each other. Cripes! Airports are the worst for me. People saying an emotional goodbye or hello or veterans getting put on a plane for their honor flight...I could go on!

  7. Thanks for our trip back in time, at least some are a little back. I love those commercials, too, Leigh Anne. And there are some little videos that make me tear up too. What a nice slice you shared today.

  8. EVERY TIME!!! You'd think when you know what's going to happen, you could control yourself. Nope!! This was a great slice...I'm a crier too. Dance performances, songs sung, I even cried when my boys were spelling words in their school spelling bee. Thanks for letting us know we are not alone in our crying over spilled milk.

  9. Oh, Leigh Anne, I recognized the Folger and Budweiser, but the Subaru and Hallmark were new for me. I watched all of em, even the ones I knew. Good to know there's other things besides spilled milk to cry about! I identified with the prof packing up his office. No bonsai trees for me - just happy times subbing and running an after school book club.
