I Could Write About...

Thank you Two Writing Teachers for creating this space for me to share my corner of the world.

It is late, and I don't have a slice.

I could write about how our Internet has been down most of the weekend and how disconnected I have felt.

I could write about how I overslept on my first morning back after spring break, and I felt rushed the entire day.

I could write about how the first student who walked into my room this morning said, "I need to get a book!"

I could write about how two students asked if we could do book clubs again.

I could write about how my substitute teacher for my professional day on Wednesday is my former social studies teacher who I had 40 years ago.

I could write about how I know a college student who has a 10 page rough draft of a research paper due Thursday, and he didn't start until tonight.

I could write about how that very thought makes me sick to my stomach and wonder how I will ever make through these last few months.

It is late, and I have a slice.

  1. Ahhh, yes, being late. I hear ya. I was doing so good at posting in the morning and all of a sudden I'm trying to read and post before bed... when I"m half asleep!!! However, guess what?! You POSTED! That's all that matters. I hope you're having a great evening and that your week turns out fantastic!

  2. Yes, yes, you do. It sounds like you have enough material to keep you slicing for the remainder of the challenge. You should write all these stories. We can all identify with most of them. The sub story is a good one! So is the 10-page paper "I'll just start it tonight..." story. We laugh...but sometimes I still do things like that. I should learn...write your slice. Maybe I can learn the lesson again. :)

  4. I love these little slices of lots of little nuggets about your day. So much happens. But I know lately l've been struggling with selecting one moment to zero in on and write about in depth. Yet, this works -- even if it wasn't intentional! I'm going to have to try it!

  7. Welcome back to school. :) This was me this morning. Pinterest saved the day and provided a little inspiration so I could write. Coming to blogs has also jump started some inspiration. Have a great day!

  8. I needed this post last night! I didn't have a post either and it was late and I had about 15 minutes to write. I'm hoping not to have any more slice emergencies but you never know. Totally bookmarking this because I love the format and how much you say.
