Trust

Thank you to Two Writing Teachers for creating a place to share our Slice of Life. Read more slices or add you own here.

Throughout ones life, there are many people we are supposed to trust.  When that trust is broken, life becomes different, difficult, damaged.

Today, trust has been broken.  I know I shouldn't put people up on pedestals - that is a fault of mine.  It makes the fall that much more difficult.

A heavy heart

Afraid to trust

Trust has been broken

Damaged

Destroyed

How do we rebuild

On a crumbling foundation

How do we pick up the pieces

Are they worth saving

If trust is gone

  2. So good that you can write and share your difficulties so powerfully in a poem. I hope the process helped make sense of the challenges you have to deal with.

  4. How to rebuild trust. I'm not sure myself. Maybe some of the answer is in your poem. Rebuild on a new foundation?

  5. Sorry for this here at the end of your very busy time, Leigh Anne. You expressed it well in your poem. Re-building isn't easy, but can happen!

  6. You ask big questions here: How do we pick up the pieces? Are they worth saving? So hard. I'm sorry this has happened. Perhaps figuring out the second question is the answer to the first.

  7. You expressed your emotion beautifully. Unfortunately no one can give the answers to your questions. You have to listen to your heart.

  8. O dear - what a place to find oneself in. Sorry, Leigh Anne.

  9. What a powerful expression of emotion, Leigh Anne. Trust is precious. And when it is squandered by someone I care about, knowing how to rebuild is sometimes one hazy fog. I find myself in a similar place with a child of mine. I resonated with your words. Thank you.

  10. It stinks to be where you are. I'm so sorry! I agree with Terje...follow your heart. It won't steer you wrong. Thanks for sharing your poem...at least the destruction of trust produced some amazing writing. Wishing you a good rest of the week!

  12. You have expressed your feelings so aptly in your poem. Trust, when lost, is so hard to regain. Put your faith in God and ask Him to help with this difficult situation.

  13. Hide me now
    Under Your wings
    Cover me
    Within Your mighty hand

When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with You above the storm
Father you are King over the flood
I will be still, know You are God

    Find rest my soul
    In Christ alone
    Know His power
    In quietness and trust

When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with You above the storm
Father You are king over the flood
I will be still, know You are God
