The time always comes in the March challenge when you rely on the tried and true. Right now on this Saturday evening, I am going back to an old favorite...
Currently, I'm...
thinking about assessing writing with some brilliant educators
thinking (some more) about how I want to make my thinking about assessing writing visible (maybe a series of blog posts?)
enjoying one of our last fires in the fireplace with my daughter and husband
anticipating a quick visit from my college-student-son
eating a cinnamon coffee cake
listening to the NCAA basketball games
loving Cinderella teams!
feeling lazy on this first day of spring break
needing to start a healthier lifestyle (we have a district challenge coming up!)
reading What Waits in the Water by Kieran Scott and Reimagining Writing Assessment by Maja Wilson
hoping that this rainy, cloudy, cold weather changes soon
Wondering what "loving Cinderella teams!" means...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great start to your break! Enjoy the time off! :) Mine is next week!!
Sounds like you are off to a wonderful spring break! Mine was 2 weeks ago, and I miss it already!
ReplyDeleteAhhh. Spring break. You are off to a wonderful start. Now, to make time stop for just a bit, so it won't end so soon. Great description of what is on your mind!
ReplyDeleteI love this format too and am still holding onto it for whatever day this month I really just can't manage a slice. It's always interesting to write--and for some reason, always interesting to read! That book on writing assessment is really good. And a big YES to a series of blog posts about assessing writing. I'd be very keen to read that.
ReplyDeleteI hope your weekend has afforded you time to engage in me time more as you definitely have that on your list, Leigh Anne.
ReplyDeleteI love this format. Spring break -lucky you. Enjoy it fully! Also have fun with your son!
ReplyDeleteI love the currently activity! It was one of the first activities I did with my writers this year in their writer's notebook.

ReplyDeleteI could go for the last fire, the cinnamon coffee cake (yum!), and the change in the weather soon ... :)
ReplyDeleteOh the luxury of life when spring break stretches out before you with so many possibilities for your time. Currently was a good way to start your break. I think you should do a series of posts on your assessment thinking. I hope your spring break weather won't let you have another fire because it is so warm. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love this format, and I'm glad to see you are getting your basketball in. ;) I am cheering for Loyola now, because I'm convinced that Sister Jean has an in with Jesus. Have a great break!
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice view into your life!
ReplyDeleteGreat "Currently" post. It sounds like you are having a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteSpring break allows us to slow down and savor, doesn't it? I am going to keep this format in mind for one of my posts. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteI've just started spring break too and am looking forward to some time off. Love your "currently" slice! :-) ~JudyK
