Yesterday marked a special day for me--Back Porch Day! It's the day my husband removes the wood stack leftover from winter, and we bring out the porch furniture.
Last night, as the sun began to set, I sat on the porch reading my book and listening to the sounds of spring. I noticed that not only was I happy to be outdoors, but the birds were singing their happy songs as well. So many birds!
I grabbed my phone, pressed my Merlin Bird ID app, and listened for over five minutes.
Joy is meant to be shared...even with the birds.

This is a lovely tradition for the first day of spring that clearly celebrates the way life changes for all living things after the equinox. I did notice the birds knew about the new season around here as well. I have to check out this app too. Thanks for the find.
ReplyDeleteBringing out the porch/patio furniture is a sure sign of spring. Sitting out and being welcomed by the birds is just an added pleasure. arjeha
