Yesterday was a busy day.
- dentist at 9:00
- paid some bills
- went to the bank
- met a friend for lunch at 12:30 and talked for 2 hours
- started cleaning
- thought of a slice
- continued cleaning
- moved books from downstairs to upstairs
- met with my writing group
- tried to remember the slice
But the slice got away!
As I went back to put in an errand after "met a friend for lunch"...I remembered the slice!
But I will save that one for tomorrow!

Unless written down, the ideas have a tendency to vanish. Sometimes when written down, the meaning may still be lost. Sometimes when the meaning is there, it might not be the slice for this particular day. You have a whole list of possible slices written down in this post. :)Terje
ReplyDeleteWhen I looked at your list, there's no errand after "Met a friend for lunch", so maybe the post is related to the errand? Or was it just random that you remembered it? Remember this is your spring break, so be sure to relax a bit too!
ReplyDeleteYou made me grin this morning with your bullets, "thought of a slice" to "tried to remember the slice." I've lost a slice before, even after I rehearsed it while completing the job I was doing. I look forward to reading it tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThe Slice That Got Away-could be a children’s book title! I’m glad you remembered your idea and look forward to reading about it soon.
ReplyDeleteI do love a slice about not writing a slice! And I'm so glad you remembered your idea. I try to keep a document open at all times to capture ideas I want to try, though Terje is right that sometimes it ends up not being the right day to write it even if I remember the idea AND the meaning behind it!
ReplyDeleteI love a good cliffhanger, Leigh Anne! And yes, I often have ideas for posts and then they disappear if I don't put them down on paper!
ReplyDeleteOh yes. Sometimes the idea comes back and other times it doesn’t. Arjeha
